photoblog image Three Candles

Three Candles

This was shot for the theme 'Three'.

What a nightmare of  a theme this has been. My mind has been completely blank. I tried doing a shoot of three kittens last night, but they just weren't playing ball. Whilst I've probably got a few good shots of one or two of them, the magic three were elusive.

Anyway, I've been doing a mammoth raw to jpeg conversion of all my 10D raw files over the last couple of days, so I can see what the pictures are of, and I stumbled across this photo which hopefully fits the bill. I can't wait to see how others have interpreted this theme. Oh, the splurgy bits by the logos are image resizing artifacts and are not on the original.

It reminds me of a Two Ronnies sketch, except there were four candles in that one :)

I've put up some alternative crops for Wednesday's poppy picture at http://www.brightimaging.com/sc/20060803/20060803.htm. Please take a look and let me know which one you like best. Thanks.

I like this ..... candles are fun to take pictures of and this one worked particularly well. Like way the are at different heights and the rather unusual depth of field (you did not, as most might have done, focus on the middle one ....) well done
Steve: Hi Petra. As it happens, the left two are on a different candlestick some distance behind the right one. I've got loads of variations from this shoot, but it looks like I didn't consider focusing on the middle one at all!

Steve: Thansk for checking out the alternatives Petra. Looks like you've got similar taste to Colin.
