This was posted for the theme 'Reflection'.
I was in Shanghai last year and had intended to take some photos one evening, but it was raining heavily. It stopped too late for me to go far, so I went onto the road opposite the hotel and started taking photos of puddles. The illumination is from the neon signs on shops and restaurants.
I think the passers-by thought I was a little strange with my camera pointing towards the ground!
PP: This is a composite of two photos - most of this comes from the one whose details are listed; the small aperture helps to get the pavement bits in focus. However, the small aperture also means that the reflections have more definition - and are also more in focus. I wanted a mixture of the two, so I've blended in the blue/green transition from an f8 version. In the f16 version, there's a 2cm band of clear water between the green and blue.
I'll put up a shot of a different puddle tomorrow.
