Joanna

This was shot for the theme 'Music'.

This is the first shot I've posted which has not been taken with an SLR. There was a photo competition at work a while back, for compact cameras with a music theme, and the prizes were Fender guitars. However, the winners were chosen at random, and unfortunately I didn't win one.

Anyway, this is my (recycled) effort for the music theme. I hope you like it

Thanks for any comments you leave, I always appreciate them. The red ShMood light is on...

I went to the Farnborough Air Show flying display on Thursday and saw the formation flypast of the A380 and the Red Arrows. Trouble was, they came in from the end where the sun was the strongest, so the pictures are a bit washed out until the formation passed me. Anyway, I'll probably stick up a couple next week.

I like this a lot. I never looked that happy when forced to go near a piano ;-) - very different with the christmas tree lights, although I'm not sure they add to the photograph. well captured
Steve: The lights were there as part of my initial concept for the competition I was shooting for. Then I added my daughter and never got round to removing the lights. So yes, they do seem a little pointless and distracting in hindsight.

very very nice Steve, lovely lovely shot.
Steve: Thanks àsìkò
I think that the shot has a great concept, and I love the angle. The christmas lights are a little bit too bright and a tad bit distracting, but overall nice composition. The hand on the piano really adds to the photograph.
Steve: Thanks Gina

I'm curious, why did you put those christmas tree lights on the piano? They seem rather distracting to me, and don't really add anything to the shot. Apart from that though, I think it's a good shot with the angle and her pose.
Steve: Thanks Veloran. As I replied to Petra (Idefix) the Christmas tree lights were part of an initial concept, then I forgot to try the shot without them.
This is HOT!
Steve: Thanks Jide.
i really like the composition of this shot. i especially like the effect that the hand has on the piano. i am not overly fond of the christmas lights, but that's just me. i wonder how this shot would look in black and white.
Steve: No Nicole - it's not just you! No one likes the lights! Thanks for stopping by.

This one of the sort concepts I had in mind, unfortunately no piano to hand..Lovely and well done..haven't finished looking around, but I think you may be the winner!
Steve: Thanks Barbara - very kind. In my eyes, àsìkò was the winner.
hugging the piano...I love comical images like this...lol
Steve: Thanks Abi
